Above is the reason our broadband is do poor. When I am watching the football live, my wife watching Netflix, one daughter uploading photos to Instagram, other daughter Facetiming and the boy playing Fortnite with his friends it's all travelling back and forth along those wires. That is just us away in the distance. All these flats to the left and ones out of view to the right and an industrial estate as well as others unaccounted for. All of us looking for space on those old wires.
We are so antiquated. We were promised a fibre rollout and big speeds and reliability. I never gave it much thought, it was a luxury. But lockdown changed that. Not so much for me but for all those people told to work from home. In theory fine but the infrastructure is not there. Life is spent more and more in the clouds. Its now essential. But if we were all told to travel every day and we only had dirt roads then surely they would lay new ones. I liken it to the railroad revolution. Its essential and lots of people are going to make fortunes off the back of it. Some day that is. For now it's so slow. Painfully slow when it's not dropping.
