I had to check my walking app to be sure but was not surprised to find I had not pushed myself out for a walk for two weeks. Shocking. And maybe as bad I had no immediate notion to do so but guilt and a little fear pushed me out reluctantly. It wasn't easy and I didn't get far but none of that was news to me. I've come to expect it now.
In my head I see these two bars akin to a video game. One is energy and the other is confidence. The longer I don't walk the more the energy fills but the confidence drains. That first walk energy is eaten up quickly and confidence rises very slowly by comparison. Over time though the opposite happens but that takes weeks possibly or months more probably. With effort and repetition confidence will get to a point where any drain is so small its visibly difficult to see the change. Same with energy. But even at that stage if I stop doing it then even quicker it all reverts back. I know this so it's ridiculous I have allowed it to happen again.
