Excuse the mess. My wife would have a fit if she knew but she doesn't. This clutter is lite compared to the near pharmacy shelves which existed previously making any hidden object game screen looking barren. It's a shelve in the bathroom above the sink and cistern. The wall used to be turquoise but now it's white thanks to multiple coats from myself multiple times on multiple days. Or at least it was. In the top left should be a mirror and it used to always reside there. Recently though it has been travelling back and forth due to careless daughters who have smashed 2 bedroom mirrors. Not on purpose but instead a mix of stupidity and neglect. Both were balanced precariously and both had a big smashing fall. So now they take the bathroom mirror citing a need for natural light as the reason.
I've no problem with that but in doing so they gave scraped away some of my painting because rather than gently place something they instead slam it into the wall then drag it down until it catches on the hook. Not a care in the world. Normally I wouldn't complain too much. I'd just get out the brush or roller and fix it. This stupid wall though is different. I don't understand the workings but basically the paint does not soak into this wall and instead becomes a covering layer due to the surface. Not great but OK mostly-- until you break it. Now painting over creates a bevel. It's never going to be straight. And I know even at that the girls will soon score it again. So I have to accept it for now until I can afford an undercoat to redo it properly. I just get annoyed when I finish something and it's ruined quickly.
