047 Graffiti

" Graffiti "

Around my way lately I have been noticing more and more graffiti. Mostly I'm opposed but I also have to admit there have been the odd bits I don't mind. I guess it just depends where and why. Above photo I am on the fence. It's a plain generator which was a bit of an eye sore anyway so why not? I don't look at it and feel any negative feelings, nor positive for that matter.

The ones I don't mind are the ones that contain obvious artistic merit. There are some talented kids doing their thing. I've seen some old lifeless things brought to life in vivid colour with beauty where there was none before or humour or just something to admire. Not a Banksy but something equally personal and meaningful to someone.

Then there is the other side which unfortunately is more widespread - tags. Kids spraying their moniker over the front of community buildings making them uglier or over something nostalgic wiped out in spat ink. Those I hate. Those are the ones sadly that appear in the morning adding nothing to society except irritation.
